IN CO-ORDINATION WITH ABE LINCOLN JR., THE UNIVERSITY UNION GALLERY AT SACRAMENTO STATE PRESENTS: ANGELS DIE HARD FROM NOV. 27TH - DEC. 14TH
Angels Die Hard is a new art show opening at the University Union Gallery at Sacramento State. Running from Nov 27 - Dec. 14th, Angels Die Hard is an homage to the low budget biker films of the mid 20th Century. Abe Lincoln Jr. has brought together an eclectic group of over 40 artists and designers for this show. The challenge for the artists? To create and imaginary biker gang and then make a vest or jacket with the gang's name and insignia on the back to represent their fictional outlaws. A partial list of noted artists participating in the show: Cupco! (AUS), The Little Friends of Printmaking (U.S.),Steve 'Ribs' Weissmann (U.S.), Pure Evil (U.K.), S. Faustina (U.S.), MCA of Evil Design (U.S), Mr. Pinks (U.K.), What What (U.K.), The Hiberts (U.S.) and Abe Lincoln Jr. (U.S.) just to name a few
The opening for the show will be on Thursday Nov. 30th from 6 - 9pm. The opening will feature live painting from Mr Pinks, Mats!?! and Abe Lincoln Jr.
University Union Gallery at Sacramento State is located at 6000 J Street on the Sacramento State Campus in Sacramento CA.
1. Take I-80 east towards the City of Sacramento.
2. At the spilt of Interstate-80 and Business 80/Highway 50
(Placerville, South Lake Tahoe) in the city of West Sacramento, stay
straight on Business 80/Highway 50 and proceed into Sacramento.
3. After crossing the Sacramento River Interstate-80 becomes Highway
50, proceed East on Highway 50. Your exit is Howe Ave/Power Inn
Road/CSUS.
4. Stay to the far right while exiting the highway and merge onto
Hornet Dr. It will be a loop on the right hand side and loop under the
freeway.
5. Turn left when the road dead-ends at College Town Dr.
6. Proceed through the second stop light at State University Dr. The
campus will be to your right.
7. Turn right on State University Drive
8. Get in the Left lane
9. Turn Left into Parking Lot #7 (University Police, Student, Daily
Parking). It is the first stop sign.
10. In Lot #7, go to the first stop sign and turn right toward the
cluster buildings.
11. Park in a space that is NOT a Green colored curb or a Blue
disabled curb. The sign should say "Student/Daily Parking Permit
Required." The curb should be plain colored. Do NOT park in the
Parking Structure II Building.
12. Walk toward the cluster of buildings to your right.
13. The gallery is in the University Union building on the 2nd floor.
The University Union building has an outdoor grass area and a
fountain. It is one of the largest buildings on campus. It is three stories with green glass on the outside. There is a sign in front of it that says "University Union"
